Today I introduce M.L. Spencer, an American writer and author of the ongoing fantasy series The Rhenwars Saga.<\/p>\n

What is your current project?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am currently working on the first draft of Darkrise, Book 4 in The Rhenwars Saga.\"\"<\/p>\n

Give us a good one liner from your latest book<\/strong><\/p>\n

Okay, it\u2019s more than 1 line, but it is less than 140 characters\u2026😊<\/p>\n

\u201cWeapons don\u2019t feel. They don\u2019t wrestle with indecision or grope for understanding. And they\u2019re never to blame for what they do.\u201d<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your favourite imaginary world that\u2019s not your own?<\/strong><\/p>\n

That\u2019s a tough one. I think I\u2019ll have to say Anne McCaffrey\u2019s Pern. Although this might change in a week; there are so many incredible worlds that I have enjoyed!\u00a0 But I was truly spellbound by Pern, its dragons, firelizards, and weirs. I\u2019d make that my home world in a heartbeat.<\/p>\n

Tell us about a life experience that ended up in your fiction work.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Honestly, I can\u2019t think of one. I don\u2019t put my experiences into my fiction.\u00a0 About the closest thing I can think of is when a character slides his thumb along a crack in the wood of a table \u2013 something I used to do as a kid sitting at my mom\u2019s kitchen table.\u00a0 Which is pretty obscure, I know!\u00a0 But my life does NOT imitate art, and I don\u2019t want my art to imitate my life!<\/p>\n

What are the hardest and easiest aspects of writing for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hardest: not being able to pull myself out of my writing to accomplish normal things that people do. I\u2019m obsessive when I\u2019m engrossed in a story. I find it difficult to pull away.<\/p>\n

Easiest: I love the last few rounds of editing, when the manuscript is just about polished, and I can sit back, relax, and enjoy it.<\/p>\n

Name another author that you would recommend reading.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just one? Oh, boy.\u00a0 Don\u2019t do this to me.\u00a0 I\u2019d have to say CT Phipps.\u00a0 I really like what he\u2019s got going on. Highly recommend Lucifer\u2019s Star.<\/p>\n

If you travelled in time, when would be your choice? Would you prefer magical or technological means of travel?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I would prefer to magically travel back in time all the way to the 80s.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Because too much further back than that, and I wouldn\u2019t have access to antibiotics–and that would just not be good. So no middle ages for me!\u00a0 But I loved the 80s.\u00a0 I would watch Back to the Future, go windsurfing, and listen to tons of hair metal.\u00a0 Maybe even a little Depeche Mode.<\/p>\n
